That's hilarious, but obviously not the original, since the hippie mentions that it's all on 2 cds.
But you forget how many commercials we saw where they would scroll the names of songs and bands -- with every third one highlighted to tell you it was the one playing.
Now go find Southern Fried Rock.
CDs have been around since mid 80s - I bought my first CD player (still have it, surprised?) in 1985 for about 150 bucks.
The commercial is from 1987. I can't find the album anywhere, but I did find this:
