Slip-Sliding Away

Interesting article here regarding the issues surrounding the effort to keep Long Beach Island , NJ, from being washed to sea. My opinion on this topic is not unlike my opinion of the short sighted folks living below sea level in New Orleans, or in the flood plains near the Mississippi River in the Midwest: enjoy the view, buy your own insurance, and learn to swim.

Hi Pragmatic!

Did it chill you, when you discover
that the people of New Orleans
RE-ELECTED THE MAYOR...

that sat on his hands five days, watching a Cat 5 appoach, and
allowed over 90 yellow school buses to sink in hip-deep water...

then blame FEMA and G.W. Bush for his FirstResponder Failure?

Comments Welcome.

It has become too easy to blame GWB for everything bad that happens in the world - hurricanes, tidal waves, terrorist attacks, violence in the middle east, global economic uncertainty.... the list goes on and on - as if this guy is God himself.

Could he do a better job at pushing Congress to contain spiralling Federal Govt growth, perhaps be a bit more articulate, and maybe start to carry a rabbit's foot for luck? Yes, yes, and please, yes - the luck would be especially welcome!
