Revolting Taxpayers

The taxpayers are revolting!

This idea, at least in my opinion, is revolting. After reading this opinion, and listening to the complaints of so many "baby boomer" taxpayers, I emailed this rebuttal:

"The May 4 edition of the Sentinel finds yet another
citizen suggesting that school taxes should be paid
only by school users, in essence, a user fee.

What a great idea - but only if it is implemented at
the same time as a similar user fee to replace the
current Social Security / Medicare taxes, which, just
like school taxes, are primarily paid by those who get
no direct benefit.

If you want to break the social contract, it's not
fair to cherry pick."

I am the first in line when it comes time to criticize waste at every level of Goverment, and I am sure that local school systems could be run more efficiently. I empathize with the senior citizen on a fixed income, but it takes big brass ones to wait until after the system took care of you and your kids, and then to point out that it's unfair, as so many of these "poor" seniors do. I'm all for a "fair" system - I'll pay for my kid's education, you pay for your retirement and health care.

As it stands, the system is being sucked dry by the boomers, so I'll be left paying for my own retirement and health care - if I'm lucky enough to last that long!

You better not have a delay in post again! Weak excuse to say allergies has you down.

Now to the topic!

Baby Boomers, they were supposed to change the world. They were supposed to fix the problems. Now they are the main problem of what is wrong in society. They knew one day they would retire and the system would be stretch to the max. Did they have an alternative plan, did they prepare for this day. No, it's left on my shoulders to bare this burden.

The people who build these county budgets know they have a good thing going. They can fluff up a budget as high as they like. Then the citizens, who don't even manage to get out and vote, vote this measure down. Well great it goes to the council, the same people associated with the budget! They know this and instead of 8 cents raise its now 6 cents and we should all applaud.

No way, someone needs to scrutinize over their budgets like a private company scrutinizes over theirs. Get rid of upper level management, or the administrators & principles. This is not money that goes to your Childs education. Our children don't benefit from these people bring in six figures. If you want a quality teacher than pay her more. If the teacher is reviewed plus fired for not working up to par. That will benefit your child and keep your tax dollars for education from going through the roof. Class sizes are decreasing in the area & the fluff in budgets is still increasing.

It’s the fluff I rather have on a sandwich not in my budget!

At 10 grand a year per kid for preschool, I wish one of these baby boomers would pay for my kid's education. Hey Mom and Dad, how about ponying up some of that cash you got stashed before we have to put you in a nursing home and give it to the government?
